the aldephi theatre is a covent garden stalwart that was founded on the strand in 1806 as the sans pareil theatre. the adelphi has since been rebuilt and renamed several times over.
the current grade ii listed building dates from 1930, designed by ernest schaufelberg in a bold art deco style.
